CamSplitter 3.0

The Soft Service Ltd-developed application CamSplitter aims to provide an answer to the following question: What do you do when several software applications need to use your one webcam? When an application uses the webcam, the webcam and its driver are locked and no other application can use the webcam. It is as if you have just one toy and a bunch of anxious children who can play with the toy one at a time.

CamSplitter comes in and teaches the “children” to share. This is to say that if you have just one webcam and you want that one webcam to be simultaneously used by different applications, CamSplitter is the application that can help you achieve this goal. As the developer explained, CamSplitter “works like a bridge between one webcam device and several webcam software applications”.

Before you go get CamSplitter and put it to the test, there are some technical details you need to know about. The technical details presented below:

Download – the download weighs in at a mere 661KB. At such a lightweight download size, it will only take a moment to get CamSplitter off the web and onto your computer. Even on a less than spectacular internet connection, a less than 1MB download will complete in very little time.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, CamSplitter provides support for the following versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003.
Limitations – CamSplitter is not freeware, it is only free to try. You will see registration reminders from time to time.
